Make-A-Wish Foundation

Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK has a very simple objective - to grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses. The charity was founded in the UK in 1986 and since then has granted over 5,300 wishes. Our wishes are truly magical. A small and dedicated team of professional wishgranters work alongside hundreds of volunteers to turn our children's wishes into reality. Whether a wish is to be a princess or a policeman for a day, own the latest computer equipment, meet a favourite celebrity or just enjoy some special time away from home with their family, a wish come true brings so much to a child's life and provides memories for the family that last a lifetime. With over 20,000 children in the UK living with life-threatening conditions at any one time, our work is never ending. Our aim is to ensure that every one of these children is able to experience the magic and joy of a Make-A-Wish wish. We receive no government funding or lottery grants, relying on the generous donations of the public and that's why, for our charity, every donation really counts.
